NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Thomas Urciuoli fired an even-par 70 in the second round of the Macdonald Cup, leading Fairfield University Men's Golf with a three-round score of 222 at the Course at Yale. Uricuoli shared 29th place in the 81-golfer field.
With his +12 score for the weekend, Urciuoli (77-70-75) was just six strokes shy (over 54 holes) of the individual top 10.
Kevin Duncan's opening-round 74 propelled him to a 229 for the weekend, and
Finn McGinnis also notched a 74 on one of his trips through the Course at Yale en route to a 233.
George Cultraro added a 243, and
Eric Austin finished two rounds, carding an 80 and a 79.
The hosts from Yale won the Macdonald Cup by one stroke over Stirling University with an 852. Four Bulldog golfers were among the individual top-10.
Medalist honors went to Robert Foley of Stirling with a 207 (-3) fueled by the best round of the weekend a second-round 66.
The Stags are back in action next Monday and Tuesday – Oct. 9-10 – at Ellington Ridge Country Club for the Connecticut Cup.
