2024-25 Fairfield Stags Dance Team Roster
For any questions regarding the dance team, email head coach Alana Suarez at alana.suarez@fairfield.edu.
Responsibilities: If chosen for the team, members are required to fulfill their responsibilities as a representative and ambassador of Fairfield University. Each member is a full-time student with an interest in supporting Fairfield Athletics and our Fairfield community. Our primary goal is to promote school spirit and involvement by cheering on our men’s and women’s basketball teams, traveling to post-season conference tournaments (MAAC & NCAA), participating in community service events, and representing Fairfield University on the national NDA stage. The Fairfield University Dance Team competes in the Division 1 jazz and pom categories in Daytona, FL. The genres we compete in are subject to change depending on the strengths of our current team.
Practices begin in early September and conclude in April. Dancers must be willing to give up certain days of their fall, spring, winter, and holiday breaks to cover events scheduled by the coaching staff. Your commitment to the dance team must come first before any other campus activities aside from academic commitments. Practice will be held 2 times/week, tentatively scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday nights. Extra practices may be added as needed.
We offer Fall and Spring clinics to give high school dancers insight into what our training, practices, and college experiences look like. If you are interested in working with the Fairfield University Dance Team outside of our scheduled clinics, please inquire here: Workshop request form
