Fairfield Sports Performance utilizes a 4,700-square foot facility located in the Walsh Athletic Center for exclusive use by student-athletes. The facility, one of the best in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), is designed to meet the changing needs of today's student-athletes.
Â
A quality sports performance program is an integral part of Fairfield's athletic programs. Under the direction of Assistant Director of Athletics for Sports Performance Michael Harris, Fairfield Sports Performance is responsible for supervising, developing, and implementing workouts designed for varsity student-athletes to reach team and individual performance goals. Fairfield Sports Performance is dedicated to developing athletes who are stronger, faster, more powerful, flexible, and metabolically efficient while decreasing the potential for injuries.
Â
Each year, teams are placed on sport-specific, periodical training programs. The Sports Performance staff works closely with the Sports Medicine Department to provide individualized attention for student-athletes who have specific needs or require injury rehabilitation.Â
