Our Mission
The Stags Care Team provides a spectrum of care for student-athletes to flourish during their career at Fairfield University. Housed within the athletics department, this team of support staff is here to educate, support and assist student athletes increase their holistic well-being. This program is designed to destigmatize and normalize mental health along the continuum of care. To be the best version of ourselves, it takes using the resources around us like The Stags Care Team. Programming with the Stags Care Team includes
- Mindful Mondays
- Team Retreats
- Injured Student-Athlete Support

Stags Care Ambassadors
Student-Athletes who are leaders and serve in a peer-to-peer wellness leadership role within Fairfield Athletics. Ambassadors serve as champions of mental and emotional health, helping to foster a supportive, resilient, and connected athletic community.
Stags Care Ambassadors are responsible for:
- Serving as a liaison between your team and the Stags Care Team
- Attending monthly meetings (approximately 1 hour each)
- Providing peer-to-peer support—“Students Helping Students”
- Sharing information about mental health resources and support services
- Communicating regularly with coaches, teammates, and the Stags Care Team
- Assisting with Stags Care Team events and initiatives (Welcome Back Event, Mindful Monday, de-stressing events, etc.)

file a report if you're concerned for someone you know, please feel free to contact the Stags Care Group through this form. Your friend will be referred to the person or department that can best help them based on the situation you mention.
University Student of Concern Report
Please
file a report for any student concerns that could be addressed by the University CARE team. This includes concerning comments, lack of engagement, health concerns, death of a loved one, suspected substance abuse, changes in behavior or aggression.
