For the men, they earned the doubles point with victories at all three positions. Brad Orban and Ofir Solomon grabbed the 7-6 win at No.1. Jeffrey Rodgers and Anthony Caputo competed at the second spot earning a 6-3 win. And in the third position Dylan Appel and Luke Lemieux secured a 6-0 win.

In singles action, Fairfield earned four more wins to claim the victory over the Purple Eagles. Orban claimed a straight set victory at the first position. He was followed by straight set victories for Rodgers, Appel, and Caputo at the third, fourth, and fifth spots.

Said Head Coach Jeff Bricker, “the men played well and got the important win in conference, and I was happy with our intensity and focus throughout.”

On the women's side, the doubles team of Nicole Aragones and Sarah Stuhlmann earned a victory at the first spot, 6-1. The two remaining doubles positions fell 6-1 and 6-4 to give Niagara the advantage.

The Stags saw just one win in singles play as well. That came at the No.6 spot where Cecilia Parla won in straight sets 6-1, 6-4. The first five spots all fell in straight sets as Niagara would claim the MAAC victory.

“The women played well tonight, it was great to get Sarah back in the doubles lineup and for them to get a win. Cecelia was great as well picking up a win at six,“ explained coach Bricker.

Both teams will be back on the courts on Wednesday, March 23 at Hofstra.
