Biography

2017-18: Went 6-6 in singles play prior to an injury…Reached the finals of the Connecticut Cup…Earned wins at No. 1 singles against Rider and Hofstra in the fall…Was 3-6 in doubles including a win over Rider in the No. 1 spot.

2016-17: MAAC Player of the Week (3/1, 3/8)… As a junior, tallied the highest win total on the team with a career-high 17 wins in 2017… He was also the only Stag with a winning record in singles play… At the No. 1 spot he went 17-11 overall including 4-3 against the MAAC… Had five consecutive wins beginning February 4th against Lafayette... In doubles play began the season partnered with Tyler Shibles going 7-9 at No. 1… Finished the season paired with Anthony Caputo, going 6-6 overall and 3-3 in league play.

2015-16: All-MAAC First Team No. 1 Doubles… MAAC Player of the Week (2/17)…As a sophomore, posted the best singles record on the team going 14-15 playing in the No. 1 spot… He recorded a 4-3 record in MAAC play… Had a three match win streak against Stony Brook, Yale, and Niagara… Was named MAAC Player of the Week on February 17th after posting a 2-0 week with wins against Boston University and Drexel…In doubles action mainly paired with Ofir Solomon at the first position… The duo earned All-MAAC First Team honors after posting a 5-0 record in conference play… And in their final 10 matches of the season the pair recorded a 7-3 record.

2014-15: As a freshman he competed mostly at the No. 1 singles spot having an impressive 13-7 mark for the year. Orban went 4-3 in MAAC play including a win at Saint Peter's in his very first match against a MAAC opponent. Mostly paired with George Tioutine at the No.2 doubles spot, the two had a 3-4 record. Overall Orban posted a 6-11 record in doubles play throughout the year.

Before Fairfield: Orban comes to Fairfield after lettering four seasons for Foran High School, where he served as a team captain. He competed at No. 1 singles each year, earning a remarkable 97-3 record, under the direction of Jackie Visinski. During his final campaign as a Lion, Orban tallied an impressive 26-1 record. He garnered All-American accolades in 2013 when his team went 16-2 overall. Orban was a four-time All-State selection (2011-2014) while also being voted the team's Most Valuable Player for all four seasons.

Personal: Son of Betty and Alex Orban… Has two siblings, Alex and Brendan... Father was a professional fencer for 12 years.
