LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – The Fairfield University men's and women's golf teams will be in Lake Buena Vista, Florida this weekend for the 2015 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship. The 54-hole event will take place at the par-72 Disney's Magnolia Golf Course from Friday, April 24 through Sunday, April 26.

In addition to live results available on all three days, Sunday's final round action will be broadcast live on ESPN3.

Fairfield men's golf – the favorite in the MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll – has produced the last two McLeod Trophy winners as individual MAAC champions. In 2013, Steve Burak shot three rounds under par to card a 208 and beat the field by five strokes. Last spring, Alex Taylor was the Stags' medalist by two shots with a three-day score of 225.

As a team, the Stags have finished three strokes off the pace in each of the last two seasons. Fairfield's lone team title came in 1997 when the Stags, led by McLeod Trophy recipient Craig Anzlovar, topped Loyola (Md.) by six shots to win the MAAC Championship.

One of the original MAAC women's golf programs, Fairfield won the first two conference titles in 1998 and 2000. Sara Scatamacchia led the field in both wins for the Stags. Allie Schick is Fairfield's most recent medalist at the MAAC Championships, leading the way at the 2003 event.

In recent years, Fairfield finished fifth of seven teams in 2013 and sixth of seven in 2014. The Stags finished in second place in three consecutive seasons from 2010-12.

Prior to the spring of 2015, Fairfield was selected fourth of eight teams in the MAAC Coaches' Preseason Poll. The Stags earned 46 points in the poll – just three points out of the second-place spot shared by Dayton and Siena – and claimed one first-place vote. The Stags has been led in 2015 by medalist performances from Olivia Brooks, Emma Ritzmann and Katie Rockwell.
