Biography

2014-15: Played all 12 tournaments, scoring in all 26 rounds of the season…Shot below 80 in 24 of 26 rounds, including four outings at par or better…Shot a 206 (68-66-72) to win the 95-golfer Rutgers Invitational…Placed eighth at the ECAC Championship as the Stags finished second…Finished fourth with a 149 (74-75) in Fairfield’s NEIGA Championship win…Placed third of 63 gofers with a 151 (76-75) at the Lonnie Barton Invitational…Ended his career with a fourth-place showing on the back of a 220 (70-73-77) at the MAAC Championship.

2013-14: Team Captain ... MAAC Academic Honor Roll … MAAC Academic Honor Roll... Sat out his junior campaign after traveling abroad.

2012-13: MAAC Individual Champion/McLeod Trophy Winner ... NCAA Tournament Participant ... Burak made Fairfield history by qualifying for the 2013 NCAA Tournament on the strength of his MAAC Championship crown. He shot a 72-hole tournament record 208 to capture the McLeod Trophy and earn the NCAA berth. Burak finished 48th in the Baton Rouge, La. Regional, shooting 232 over 54-holes. For the year he played in nine tournaments, finishing 24 rounds, and averaged 74.5 strokes per round. Burak saved his best for last, shooting a season-best 68 in the final round of the MAAC Tournament, his eighth round of par or better on the year.

2011-12 (at Temple): Burak played in six fall tournaments, averaging 73.6 strokes per round. Had his best 54-hole showing at the McLaughlin to open the year with a +4, 214 over 54 holes. Shot a season-best 68 in the second round of that event. Burak shot 70-72 for a +2 143 at The Macdonald Cup, his best 36-hole score of the year.

2010-11 (at Temple): Burak played 23 rounds, 10 tournaments, as a college rookie, averaging 76.7 strokes per round. He shot nine rounds of 75 or better during that season, including a 72 and a 71 over the course of his first three collegiate rounds at The McLaughlin. Equaled that season-best 71 at the Princeton Invitational in April. Burak carded a season-best +2 finish at the URI Spring Invitational.

High School: Burak earned four varsity letters at Thayer Academy, where he served as team captain his final two seasons. He was named the team MVP those final two seasons as well as earning All-ISL Honors in each season.

Personal: Son of Judy and Larry Burak and has an older sister, Alexandra. Major is marketing and was named to the University's Dean's List. He is also an officer in the Marketing Club on campus.
