Men's Golf Moves Up Four Spots In Final Round Of 7

Final Results

The Fairfield University men's golf team finished the fall portion of its schedule with a 17th place finish at the 77th Annual NEIGA Championship at The Captains Course in Brewster, Mass.  The Stags shot a second round team score of 314 to move up four spots in the team standings.

Freshman Peter Repetto was the Stags top finisher, shooting a two-day 156, +12, to finish in a tie for 40th place.  Brendan O'Brien was the Stags top scorer on Tuesday, as he carded a round of 76 to move up 39 spots into a tie for 55th place.  He finished the 26-hole event with a score of 158, +14.

Patrick Lynch moved up 30 spots with his second round 77, five shots better than his first round score, to finish in a 64th place tie with a 159, +15.  Eric Johnson shot his second consecutive round of 82 to finish in 107th place tie at +20 score of 164. Omari Howard rounded out the Fairfield effort with a +35, 179, to finish tied for 155th.

The second round was the Stags Putting for Pink round as they help raise awareness and fund for Rally for the Cure® and the fight against Breast Cancer.  Anyone interested in supporting the Stags cause can make a donation or pledge here.

Bentley captured the overall title at the 34 team event, with a 606 +30 final score. Holy Cross golfer Steven Zychowski earned medalist honors with a +2, 146 in the 169 player field.
