Women’s Soccer Announces 2026 Schedule

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Women's Soccer team has announced their 2026 schedule which features 18 matches and begins on August 12 when the Stags travel to face North Carolina. Fairfield will open up conference play in the newly-named Metro Conference on September 5 when they host Rider.

"We once again have an ambitious non-conference slate to prepare us for what's to come in the Metro Conference," Head Coach David Barrett said. "With the end of last season leaving quite a bitter taste in our mouth, everyone in the team is motivated and focused to tackle all challenges this fall."

The first two road matches brings the Stags to: UNC (Aug. 12) and UMass Lowell (Aug. 16). The Tar Heels advanced to the third round of the NCAA Tournament and ended the year with a 13-6-2 overall record.

Fairfield's first homestand will begin on Aug. 20 when they host Boston University and then welcome Rutgers on Aug. 23. The Terriers, coached by former Fairfield assistant coach Megan Burke, won the Patriot League regular season championship with an 11-5-3 overall record in 2025.

The Stags will close out non-conference play with road matches against Harvard (Aug. 27) and FDU (Sept. 2).

Fairfield will then begin their most important part of the schedule with Metro Conference play beginning with a home match against Rider (Sept. 5). This season, the Stags will also welcome: Canisius (Sept. 12), Iona (Sept. 23), Merrimack (Oct. 10), Quinnipiac (Oct. 21), and Saint Peter's (Oct. 31) to Lessing Field.

The Stags will travel to: Siena (Sept. 19), Mount St. Mary's (Sept. 26), Marist (Oct. 7), Niagara (Oct. 17), Manhattan (Oct. 24), and Sacred Heart (Nov. 4).

The Metro Conference Championships will begin with the first round on Nov. 8 and conclude with the Championships on Nov. 15.

Fairfield is coming off their second-straight conference regular season championship while holding an overall record of 33-5-3 and a 20-1-3 league mark. Their .841 winning percentage over the last two seasons is the highest in Division I.
