FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Four members of the Fairfield University Women's Soccer team were named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Region teams with
Maddy Theriault highlighting the quartet with a Second Team selection.
Meghan Carragher was honored with Third Team accolades while
Sam Kersey and
Katie Wright picked up a spot on the Fourth Team.
"Our region is filled with amazing players with those from the ACC dominating the All-Region teams," Head Coach
David Barrett said. "The fact we had four selections across all the teams is incredibly satisfying for me and rewards the players for all their hard work."
Theriault adds another award to her impressive career after receiving the MAAC Golden Boot award for the second-straight season. She was also the first Stag ever to be named to the All-MAAC First Team in all four of her collegiate seasons. She finishes her Fairfield career ranked second with 46 career goals while also placing second with 113 points. In her senior campaign, she led the conference with 15 goals which was the third-most in a single-season in program history.
Carragher also received a major award after being named the MAAC Defensive Player of the Year. She also added back-to-back All-MAAC First Team campaigns and a spot on the All-New England Third Team last season. Carragher was the anchor of the Fairfield defensive line that held opponents to just 8.7 shots per game with 3.3 on target. She became the sixth Fairfield player ever to be named the MAAC Defensive Player of the Year and the second in the last three seasons.
Wright rounded out the trio of major award winners by being voted for the MAAC Golden Glove given to the conference's best goalkeeper. Wright became the program's all-time wins leader recording her 53rd career victory this year. She finished third in the conference with a .732 goals against average which was in the top-40 in the country. She also posted four shutouts bringing her career total to 22, the fourth-most in program history.
Kersey earned her second-straight First Team honors after setting a career-high with six goals and 13 points during the regular season. Five of those scores came during MAAC play including a pair of goals in the road win over Rider. She also recorded three points against Iona with a goal and an assist. She was also named to the MAAC All-Tournament team this year.
The quartet of Stags were awarded after posting 15 wins in 2025 which featured an unbeaten MAAC regular season and their second-straight MAAC Regular Season Championship. Fairfield's .842 winning percentage ranked in the top-five in the country for the second-straight season.
