BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Fairfield University Men's Cross Country outpaced five of its MAAC counterparts during Friday afternoon's Paul Short Run in Bethlehem.
Ryan Lindley was the Stags' individual leader, finishing 59th in a field of 314 finishers.
Fairfield finished 23rd of 38 teams on the leaderboard, defeating MAAC opponents Rider, Quinnipiac, Manhattan, Niagara, and Saint Peter's along with other regional foes including Loyola, LIU, Wagner, and FDU.
Individually, Lindley completed the 8K course at Lehigh University with a time of 25:39.2.
Chase Orciuch (26:07.8),
George Hohenleitner (26:13.1), and
Harrison Caprara (26:31.3) all finished within a minute of Lindley.
Bryce Robinson rounded out the scoring quintet for the Stags with a time of 26:56.6.
Also hitting the course for Fairfield were
Kyle Haskell (26:59.5),
Nevan Kelley (27:11.3),
Colin Shand (27:21.6),
Colston Wisotzki (27:24.3), and
Gabriel Montoya (28:23.3.).
George Washington University won the team title handily, as the Revolutionaries were paced by second place finisher Michael Bohlke (24:20.8) with all five of their scorers among the top 14 to cross the line.
Mike Formica of Division II Indiana (Pa.) won the race with a time of 24:18.2, though the Hawks had only four total finishers and did not factor into the team scoring.
Fairfield Men's Cross Country returns to action on Friday, Oct. 17 at the ECAC Championship at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx.
