FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University men's soccer team begins its final home stand of the regular season on Saturday night, hosting Mount St. Mary's at Lessing Field with a 7 pm start. Prior to the match, the men's soccer program will honor the senior class with a presentation beginning at 6:45 pm.
The Stags currently stand third in the latest Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) standings as they continue to jockey for a position in the upcoming MAAC Tournament which begins on November 9. The top six teams in the conference standings advance to the championship.
Fairfield brings a five-match unbeaten streak into Saturday night's match, posting a 2-0-3 mark during the stretch. The team extended its streak with a 1-0 win at Manhattan last Saturday with
Sean Albritton providing the deciding goal. The game winner was Albritton's third of the season and fifth goal of the campaign. For his efforts, the freshman was named the MAAC Rookie of the Week for the second time this season.

Alex Vaz represent the team's top scorers to this date, both netting five goals for 10 points. The duo comprises half of the team's 20 goals this season. Both rank among the MAAC scoring leaders as well with both tying for fourth in the conference for total goals scored. Just a point behind them stands
Cameron Gerber who has become the team's top playmaker with nine points. Most of those markers come from his seven assists which leads the MAAC (.538 assists per game).
Goalkeeper
Viktor Nikolov earned a pair of starts last week and performed admirably over those 180 minutes. The senior allowed one goal and picked up a clean sheet in the Manhattan victory. He owns a 0.50 goals against average with a .833 save percentage (five saves).
Evan Chomow has seen a majority of the minutes this year and brings a 1.08 goals against average with a .806 save percentage into the match.
Mount St. Mary's picked up four points in the MAAC standings over its last two games, a 1-1 draw with Niagara and a 1-0 win over Quinnipiac. Like the Stags, the Mount has not been on the pitch in a week. The team owns a 2-3-1 record in MAAC play.
Graham Dougald paces the Mount's offense with four goals and one assist for nine points, tallying three of those goals against MAAC opponents. He was responsible for the deciding goal against Quinnipiac, his first game winner of the season. Jack Kehoe has also been a threat inside the box, netting three goals for six points through his 12 starts.
Julian Marcos has handled the goalkeeping duties this year, starting all 13 matches so far. He is averaging nearly 4.5 saves per match, making 57 stops this season. He owns a 1.69 goals against average with a .722 save percentage.
Following Saturday night's game, the Stags will have two more regular season games left on the schedule, both against Connecticut-based programs. Fairfield will host Quinnipiac University on Wednesday, October 29 at 7 pm before making the short trip to Sacred Heart University on Wednesday, November 5 for a 7 pm contest.
