FAIRFIELD, Conn. – For the second time this season, freshman
Sean Albritton earned the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week award. The forward played a key role in the Fairfield University men's soccer team's 1-0-1 week.
Albritton provided the Stags with the winning margin by scoring the game's only goal in a 1-0 decision over Manhattan University on the road. The goal was as a result of a corner kick, placed to the center of the box by Auden Engen Vik. Albritton was able to rise above his defender and redirect the ball with a header in the 85
th minute.
The rookie is the team's co-leader in scoring with five goals for 10 points, the same numbers for classmate
Alex Vaz. Of his five goals this season, Albritton has recorded three game winners – Army West Point, Monmouth, and Manhattan.
He is tied for the MAAC lead in game winning goals, averaging .333 per game (3 goals in nine appearances). Albritton and Vaz are tied for fourth in the conference with their five goals each while Albritton ranks fifth among the member schools with 1.11 points per game (10 points in nine games).

Krystian Witkowski, will return to action on Saturday, October 25 when the team hosts Mount St. Mary's for a 7 pm match on Lessing Field. Prior to the start, the soccer program will honor its senior class with a ceremony.
