Warren, Sylvestre Named To All-MAAC Softball Team

Stags Placed 11 On MAAC All-Academic Squad

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Juniors Charli Warren and Morgan Sylvestre earned a berth to the 2024 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) team as the annual postseason awards were announced this morning. Warren collected a spot on the All-MAAC first team while Sylvestre gathered a second-team selection. In addition, 11 Fairfield University student-athletes were rewarded for the their academic achievement by securing MAAC All-Academic accolades.

The duo paced the Fairfield offense all season long finishing one-two in batting average and tying for the team lead in hits this year. Sylvestre led all Stags with a .375 batting average, stroking 51 hits in 136 at-bats. She was also the team's leader in on-base percentage with a .430 mark as well as in slugging percentage with a .441 final number. The infielder was also number one on the team with 11 sacrifices including 10 of the bunt variety. Sylvestre enjoyed a nine-game hitting streak in early March, registering 20 hits in 30 at-bats for a .667 batting average during that stretch. She tallied two or more hits in eight of those nine games and finished with 16 multi-hit games. She collected a hit in 29 of her 47 appearances highlighted by her garnering at least one hit in 29 of her final 38 games of the regular season. Sylvestre placed second with 11 stolen bases with Warren setting the standard with 16 stolen bases.

Warren ended her junior campaign with a .325 batting average, stroking 51 its in 157 at-bats through her 47 appearances. She held the third position among her teammates with a .414 slugging percentage and a .367 on-base percentage. The outfielder scored 35 runs in 2024 which was nearly double the next best total of 18 established by graduate student Megan Forbes. She utilized her speed to tally six triples this year whichi placed third among all MAAC student-athletes. She enjoyed a seven-game hitting streak midway through the season, securing 13 hits in 25 at-bats for a .420 mark. She collected at least one hit in 33 of her 47 appearances which included 12 multi-hit games. Warren finished the regular season with a six-game hitting streak which led her to a .450 batting average (9 of 20). 

In addition to the on-field recognition, Fairfield also placed 11 student-athletes on the MAAC All-Academic team. The Stags were represented by Allie Bridgman (Management), Ava Cohen (Accounting), Gillian Deans (Public Health), Megan Forbes (Accounting - MS), Cara Kochakian (History), Anna Paravati (Bioengineering), Morgan Sylvestre (Marketing/International Business), Bailey Taylor (Nursing), Charli Warren (Marketing), Alyssa Weinberg (History), and Delaney Whieldon (English Education).
