Biography
2026: Alyssa Weinberg ranked as one of Fairfield’s top pitchers all-time, finishing fourth in career wins with 43, third in appearances with 122, third in strikeouts with 505, and second with 6.93 strikeouts per 7 innings pitched. During the year, the All-MAAC second team pitcher led the conference with 187 strikeouts after doing the same in 2025 with 190 strikeouts. She owned a 15-12 overall record with a save, three shutouts, and a 2.74 ERA. She opened the season by striking out 11 hitters, the first of six double-digit performances this year. She collected 28 strikeouts during the three-game series with Sacred Heart, fanning 13 in her first start and another 15 in her second start of the set. Her save came in a 6-4 win over Quinnipiac, securing the last five outs in support of starter Peyton Shields. She tossed three one-hitters in 2026, complete game wins against Houston Christian (5 innings), Sacred Heart, and Rider (5 innings). She was named the MAAC Pitcher of the Week after posting a 0.93 ERA with 31 strikeouts in 22.2 innings, garnering a win and save against Quinnipiac as well as a pair of wins at Sacred Heart.
2025: Weinberg, a 2025 All-MAAC first team selection, ranks among the conference’s top pitchers, placing first with 190 strikeouts, tied for second in wins (18), third in innings pitched (180.0), and fifth in ERA (2.29). She owned an 11-4 record in MAAC regular-season play during 2025 with 96 strikeouts and 1.97 ERA over 95.2 innings pitched. The lefthander struck out 10 or more batters in four games during the 2025 season. She fanned a personal-best 16 batters in the Merrimack outing, striking out the first 10 hitters she faced in the game. She also had 15 strikeouts against Campbell, 12 strikeouts against Central Connecticut in five-plus innings of relief, and 13 strikeouts against Sacred Heart. She capped the regular season with three wins in the final week, record one win at Iona and two victories at Quinnipiac. She pitched 10 innings twice in an 8-5 win over Campbell and a 4-2 loss to UNC-Greensboro.
2024: Allysa Weinberg ended the season with four victories, three of which came against non-conference opponents. She defeated Bucknell, North Dakota, and Purdue-Fort Wayne during the month of March. Her lone MAAC win came against Siena College after tossing three-plus innings in relief, fanning five batters in the game. Weinberg recorded five or more strikeouts five times in 2024, highlighted by her eight punchouts in her season-opening performance against East Carolina. She matched the total in an extra-inning setback against Saint Peter’s on the road. Weinberg completed the year with 80.2 innings pitched and recorded the team’s lone save of the season (Manhattan).
2023: Weinberg developed into the Stags closer over the second half of the season, earning all five of her saves after April 3. She came out of the bullpen for 23 of her 31 appearances this season. She allowed 21 earned runs over her eight starts (4.49 ERA) and 24 earned runs as a reliever (2.95 ERA). She fanned 50 hitters coming out of the bullpen (6.9 strikeouts per seven innings) and 31 batters as a starter (6.6 strikeouts per seven innings) for an overall average of 6.8 strikeouts per seven innings. In her last non-conference start, Weinberg registered 15 strikeouts in a complete game victory against Hartford, the third highest strikeout total in a seven-inning game in Fairfield history. She opened her collegiate career with a 2-1 win over Stetson University, fanning seven hitters and allowing one unearned run over seven innings. Her last regular-season outing was a six-inning stint in relief which resulted in a 3-2 10-inning win over Marist which clinched a MAAC tournament bid for the Stags, allowing three hits and striking out seven batters. She earned the MAAC Rookie of the Week for her performance against the Red Foxes. In MAAC Tournament play, Weinberg pitched in two of the team’s three games (Siena and Canisius) and earned a save against the Saints.
