FAIRFIELD, Conn. – With more than 50 games on the 2026 docket, the Fairfield University softball team will play games in seven different states against programs from 12 different conferences during the 2026 campaign.
The Stags will come against at least one team from a list of conferences that includes the ACC, America East, Atlantic East, Big 10, Big 12, Big East, Coastal Athletic Association, the Ivy League, the Metro Atlantic Athletic, the NEC, the Patriot League, the Southern, the Southland, plus the Sun Belt. And, those match ups will send the team to Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, and Texas in addition to Connecticut.
Fairfield will open the season with its longest road trip of the season, playing a pair of games against Houston Christian University as well as host University of Houston on February 6 and 7. The Stags will make another extended trip the following weekend with a five-game set split between Appalachian State, Columbia University, and host UNC-Greensboro from February 13-15.

Julie Brzezinski brings her team on the road for the third straight weekend when Fairfield participates at the University of Maryland Tournament, a three-day event which includes Providence College, UMBC, and the host school. The Stags remain on the road for their first game in the Northeast but get to stay in Connecticut with a single game at Central Connecticut State University on March 4.
The home opener happens just a few days later when Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) play opens with a three-game series with defending champion Marist University on March 7-8. The series will follow the MAAC format of a doubleheader on the first day followed by a single game on the getaway day.
The Stags will wrap a pair of single non-conference games around another MAAC series at Merrimack College. The team will make its way to Yale University on March 11 before returning to MAAC play from March 14-15. The five-game road trip ends on March 18 at Army West Point.
Fairfield's MAAC schedule continues with a home series against Mount St. Mary's University on March 21-22 before the team welcomes the University of New Haven on March 25 as the Chargers will embark on its inaugural season as a Division I program. A four-game road trip will carry Fairfield into April, starting with a month-ending three gamer at Canisius University on March 28-29. Fairfield again stays in the Nutmeg State for the finale when it makes it way to the University of New Haven on April 1.
The Stags will play the first of its two five-game homestands when they welcome the University of Maine and Quinnipiac University for a pair of twin bills on April 2 and 7, respectively. The home stretch ends with a single game against Yale University.
A three-game series at Sacred Heart University on the weekend of April 11 separates the next five-game homestand for Fairfield. The Stags will host Hofstra University (April 14) and Central Connecticut (April 15) before Siena University comes to Alumni Softball Field for a three-game set on April 18-19.
Fairfield's final eight regular season games starts with the team heading to Manhattan University for a doubleheader on April 21. A three-game series against Rider University on April 25-26 closes out the home schedule while a trio of games at Saint Peter's brings the regular season to an end on May 1-2.
The top six teams in the MAAC regular-season standings will advance to the conference championship, a double-elimination event that runs from May 6-9 at the regular-season champion's home diamond.
