Biography

2024: Bailey Taylor capped her senior season with a berth to the CSC Academic All-District team. She tallied a 7-6 overall record, accounting for half of the team’s win total in 2024. She tossed a team-best 95.2 innings and posted a team-leading 3.44 ERA over her 24 appearances. She also accounted both of Fairfield shutouts on the season, helping her earn the MAAC pitcher of the week on April 30. She fanned 14 batters over her final five appearances, highlighted by a season-high six hitters against Central Connecticut. She started 13 of her 24 appearances and garnered three complete games. She tossed 16 consecutive scoreless innings over three appearances – Quinnipiac (9.0 IP), Quinnipiac (5.0 IP), and Central Connecticut (2.0 IP).

2023: Taylor picked up her first save of the season in the second game of the Marist doubleheader, tossing 2.2 innings which represented her second-longest outing of the season and the third time this year that she went two or more innings. She struck out one batter and allowed one hit in the scoreless stint against the Red Foxes. She pitched four innings in relief against Sacred Heart on April 26 to earn a victory, allowing two hits and one walk that translated into two runs. The two runs against Sacred Heart are the only ones she has surrendered since her appearance against Canisius on April 15. Since pitching against the Griffs, Taylor has yielded two earned runs in nine innings pitched over six appearances. Against MAAC opponents, she pitched three innings without allowing a run, gave up one hit, and earned a save. She was also part of two combined shutouts this year. Nine of her 13 earned runs allowed this year came in two games – five against Boston University and four at UConn – which gives her a 2.12 ERA over her other 11 appearances (four earned runs in 13.2 innings).

2022:  Taylor emerged as one of the team’s top relievers especially early in the season. She started just two of her first 10 appearances before reeling off five straight starts from March 16 to April 11. As a starter, Taylor pitched 25.2  innings and allowed 19  earned runs for a 5.17 ERA and a 2-4 record. As a reliever, the righthander owned a 1.55 ERA (seven earned runs in 31.2 innings) with two saves and a 3-1 record. She did not allowed any runs in her last six regular-season relief appearances (13.2 innings) after starting at Siena on April 11. She yielded one earned run in 1.2 innings of work in the MAAC Tournament to end that streak. Her saves came against Western Carolina and Sacred Heart. Bailey owned a 2-2 record and a 4.74 ERA against the MAAC during the 2022 regular season.

2021:  Bailey Taylor started her career with a start against Manhattan, yielding four runs (two earned) in 1.2 innings). Since that date, the freshman came out of the bullpen 10 times and allowed just one earned run over 19 innings pitched (0.37 ERA). She also struck out 10 hitters since joining the bullpen in 20 innings pitched. Her best performance was a three-strikeout effort in 2.2 innings versus Siena. Taylor did not walked a batter for 14.1 innings pitched covering seven games.  The run ended when she issued a walk at Canisius in her final appearance of the year (May 14). For the season, Taylor owned a 0.97 ERA by allowing three earned runs in 21.2 innings pitched. She allowed only 13 hits as a reliever with only one of those hits being for extra bases (double vs. Marist). She has one save to her credit, getting the stats against Siena in the MAAC quarterfinals.
