FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Senior infielder Morgan Sylvestre earned a berth to the 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District based on her performance both on the diamond and in the classroom. The organization honors softball student-athletes who achieve a GPA of at least 3.50 in addition to their accomplishments in the sport.

Sylvestre started all 99 games that the team has played since the start of the 2024 season including 52 appearances this year. The senior found her stroke in the second half of the season, picking up 22 hits (69 at-bats) in the last 29 regular-season games which translates into a .319 batting average. She collected two four-game hit streaks over this second-half stretch, going 4 for 5 from March 26-29 against Central Connecticut and Manhattan (3 games) as well as 7 for 11 against UConn, Siena (2), and Saint Peter's.

Sylvestre scored at least one run in eight of the final 13 games including two in the second game against Siena and against Iona in the MAAC tournament. She had at least one hit in 25 of her 49 appearances which includes seven two-hit performances. She posted one extra base hit this season, a double in the second Siena game. Defensively, Sylvestre tallied 114 putouts and 71 assists which placed third and second on the team respectively in those categories.

She also was recognized by the MAAC for her academic achievement with her placement on the organization's All-Academic team, the third time she has earned that honor.

The Fairfield University softball team, under Head Coach Julie Brzezinski, finished the 2025 campaign with a 26-26 overall record as well as an 18-7 mark in the MAAC. The Stags advanced to the MAAC Championship and reached the semifinal round of the tournament.
