FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield University Men's and Women's Golf head south to Lake Buena Vista, Fla. for the 2024 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships. The 54-hole event will be contested at Disney's Palm Golf Course from April 19-21.
Fairfield Men's Golf will be represented by the quintet of
Peter Crowe,
Shane DeVincenzo,
Patrick McCarthy,
Anthony Naples and
Colin Summers with
Chase Millar slated as the alternate. The Stags are seeking their first team title since 1997. Four Stags have won the McLeod Trophy as individual MAAC Champion, including 2023 winner
Killian McGinley.
Fairfield Women's Golf is in search of the third MAAC Championship in program history, previously winning the first two in 1998 and 2000. That task is in the hands of
Maria Beltran,
Sydney Nethercott,
Julia Rabadam,
Julia Towne and
Katelynn Waclawski, as well as
Juliette Prud'Homme as an alternate. The Stags have boasted three McLeod Trophy winners – Sarah Scatamacchia in 1998 and 2000 and Allie Schick in 2003.
The winner of the 2024 MAAC Championship – as well as the McLeod Trophy winner – will garner a berth in the upcoming NCAA postseason.
