EASTON, Pa.-The Fairfield University men's golf team wrapped up play at the 2024 Abarta Coca-Cola Collegiate Invitational hosted by Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania at the Northampton Country Club, and the Stags fired a final round 301 to finish with a team score of 600 (+24) over the two-day event. The Fairfield finished in eighth place out of 13 teams in the 36-hole competition which was won by Lehigh University with a total score of 572 (-4)
Junior Colin Summers was the top Fairfield finisher over the two days, as he shot 77 on Monday to go with a 70 on Sunday for a three-over par 147 placing him in a tie for fifteenth place in field of 81 golfers.
Graduate student Shane DeVincenzo knocked four strokes off his first round score firing a second round 73 to finish with a two-round score of 150 putting him in a tie for twenty-fifth place
Freshmen Anthony Naples was next on the Fairfield scorecard with a final total of 151 (76-75) in Pennsylvania.
Graduate student Patrick McCarthy and freshman Peter Crowe each carded scores of 154 over the 36 holes, and junior Chase Millar shot 156 to complete the Stags' team card.
Up next, the Fairfield men's golf team will head to the Sunshine State of Florida of the 2024 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship Tournament that will take place in Lake Buena Vista this Friday through Sunday.
