FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The top-seeded Fairfield University Women's Soccer team will compete in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship Match when they host the second-seeded Quinnipiac Bobcats on Sunday afternoon at 1pm. The Stags will be looking for their first MAAC Championship and first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2008.
This will be the 13th time the Stags have played in the MAAC title match and the second-straight season.
Fairfield will bring a 17-2-1 overall record into the match, currently holding the second-best winning percentage in the country, trailing only Mississippi St. Their 17 victories are also the third most in a single season in school history and tied for the most in the country.
As the top-seed, the Stags will host the MAAC Championship at Lessing Field, a pitch where they hold the nation's longest active winning streak at 15-straight victories.
The Stags were dominant in their semifinal victory over Manhattan, taking down the Jaspers 4-1.
Sam Kersey led the Stags with a pair of goals while

Alex Darcy both touched net. The Stags tallied seven assists in the win with MAAC Golden Boot award winner
Maddy Theriault leading the bunch with a pair.
Fairfield has now reached the 50-goal plateau this season for the fifth time in program history and the first time in nearly 20 years. The 50 goals also places eighth in the nation.
Fairfield also brings one of the most up-tempo offenses in the country, leading the nation with to 21.4 attempts per game. Fairfield also leads the MAAC in: goals (51), assists (46), points (148), and shots on goal per game (9.5).
The reigning MAAC Champions Quinnipiac will bring a 14-4-1 overall record into the match after claiming the second-seed in the tournament. Courtney Chochol is the team's leading scorer with seven goals.
The Stags will be looking for the eighth MAAC Championship in program history and the first time since 2008. With a win, the Stags will also advance to the NCAA Tournament for the sixth time.
