CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Fairfield University Women's Soccer team fell to the Harvard Crimson 4-0 on the road Thursday evening. The Stags allowed three goals in the first half, being out-shot 10-5 in the opening 45 minutes. Fairfield will next travel to FDU to finish out their non-conference slate on Wednesday night.
The Stags surrendered the game's first two scores within the first six minutes with Harvard grabbing three shots overall during that span.
Ashlyn Walsh had the first shot on target for the Stags in the 13th minute, but her line drive attempt was directed towards the keeper.
Fairfield had long-range opportunities in the first stanza, but the Harvard defense was able to step in front of an
Amelie Stewart shot and
Brooke Walonis' attempt off a free kick just sailed over the bar.
Fairfield had five total shots on goal with
Kelly O'Connor having the best chance late in the match that forced a diving save from the keeper.
The Stags will now travel to FDU to finish their non-conference slate on Wednesday at 6pm.
