EDISON, N.J. – Fairfield University Women's Soccer junior captain
Reagan Klarmann was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Offensive Player of the Week after scoring the game-winning goal late in the second half in Fairfield's 2-1 victory over the Rider Broncs. The award is the second career weekly honor for Klarmann, who was also named the MAAC Rookie of the Week in 2021. She also becomes the third different Stag this season to earn the conference's Offensive Player of the Week.
"Reagan has been playing really well and hitting her form recently," Head Coach
David Barrett said. "She has definitely been a catalyst for our attack."
Klarmann broke a 1-1 tie as she back-tapped a low cross from
Maddy Theriault in the 78th minute into the net, eventually deciding the game. The score was Klarmann's first of the season and the fifth of her career. Four of her five career goals have been game-winners.
Klarmann also attempted a game-high six shots with three of those on target. The two-year captain has now recorded four points on the season with one goal and two assists and ranks third among all field players with 811 minutes played.
The three points kept the Stags tied atop of the conference with six points. They will now embark on their first MAAC road trip of the season, traveling to Western New York to face Niagara on Saturday at noon.
