SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y. – Colin Summers tied for second place in a field of 60 golfers to lead Fairfield University Men's Golf to a third place team finish at the Bucknell Veterans Intercollegiate. Summers carded a 143 (-1) to finish three strokes off the pace through 36 holes at Sebonack Golf Club.

As a team, the Stags turned in a +24 to finish one shot behind second-place Iona. LIU ran away with the team title by 17 strokes, led by a pair of golfers – Marcelo Mexsen and Lewis Wright – who tied Summers on the individual charts. Medalist honors went to Alex Creamean of host Bucknell with a 140 (-4) for the tournament.

Summers turned in a 70 (-2) and a 73 (+1) to round out his score.

Patrick McCarthy and
Anthony Naples all joined him inside the individual top 20.
Peter Crowe rounded out the quintet that hit the links for the Stags this week on Long Island.

Naples made the biggest leap from Monday's opening round to Tuesday's final round, posting a 79 on his first trip through Sebonack followed by a 74 on his second venture.
