Box Score FAIRFIELD, Conn. – A hard fought battle at the WAC Tennis Courts saw Fairfield University men's tennis fall to Quinnipiac, 4-3 Thursday afternoon.
"Tough loss today," said Head Coach Jeff Bricker. "We just didn't close them out, and in the end, they played better than us on the big points. We have to re-group quickly for Rider on Saturday."
The Stags captured their first win of the day at No. 2 doubles, as Kaya Gore and Will O'Brien defeated their opponents in dominating fashion, 6-1. Andrew Immink and Charlie Morkel would then defeat their opponents in the No. 3 duel, 6-3 to improve to a perfect 7-0 as a tandem this season, and give Fairfield the doubles point for the match.
In singles play, Sam Hodges won his 15th contest of the season with an impressive, 6-0, 6-2 in the No. 4 battle, and Charlie Morkel nabbed his 16th victory in solo play with a straight set win, 6-2, 7-6 (10-6).
Fairfield men's tennis will conclude the 2022 regular season Saturday when they celebrate senior day, hosting Rider at the WAC Tennis Courts.
