EDISON, N.J. – Diego Alcala completed his freshman season with Fairfield University Men's Tennis as the final MAAC Rookie of the Week off the 2025-26 campaign. The rookie went 2-0 in singles action in a pair of MAAC matches this past week.
 
On Thursday at Quinnipiac, Alcala earned a 6-4, 6-2 win in the #2 Singles spot. He also teamed with Domagoj Stabek against the Bobcats at #3 Doubles, where the duo was edged by a 7-5 final.
 
In Sunday's season finale against Niagara, Alcala returned to the #2 Singles position and rolled to a 6-1, 6-1 triumph. His match at #3 Doubles never began due to Fairfield clinching the team win over the Purple Eagles.
 
In addition to two MAAC Rookie of the Week awards during the 2025-26 season, Alcala also teamed with Alex Aguiar in the fall to win the MAAC Masters Doubles Championship.
