| Box Score 2 TULSA, Okla. – Diego Alcala and Kacper Krolikowski represented Fairfield University Men's Tennis this weekend at the ITA Men's All-American Championship Qualifying at the University of Tulsa. Alcala played two singles matches on the weekend, and the pair of Stags teamed up for two doubles outings.
 
"Diego and Kacper both played at a very high level against the best competition that they've seen in their time at Fairfield," said Head Coach Jeff Bricker. "I think they represented themselves and Fairfield Tennis very well on the national stage, and we will be heading back to campus with the confidence that we can compete with anyone."
 
In the main draw of singles prequalifying, Alcala drew Wake Forest first-year Emanuel Ivaniševic. The Fairfield sophomore forced a tiebreak in the second set, but ultimately fell to Ivaniševic – the son of 2001 Wimbledon Champion Goran Ivaniševic – by a count of 6-1, 7-6 (5).
 
In the consolation draw, the competition remained fierce with Alcala sparring with Thomas Nicholas Gadecki, an Oklahoma State junior and a former Australian U16 National Champion. Two tightly contested sets went the way of Gadecki to claim a 7-5, 6-4 decision.
 
On the doubles courts, Alcala and Krolikowski went head-to-head with Baylor's duo of Calvin Baieri and reigning Big 12 co-Player of the Year Devin Badenhorst. The Baylor pair took the match – 6-0, 7-5 – to advance in the qualifying bracket.
 
Fairfield's tandem wrapped up the weekend on Sunday night against another Power 4 team in Ainius Sabaliasukas and former Australian U18 National Champion Lachlan McFadzean representing North Carolina State. The ACC pair took the match – 6-1, 6-2 – to close out the Stags' weekend in Tulsa.
 
Fairfield Men's Tennis continues fall action next weekend with the Bulldog Invitational beginning Sept. 25 in West Haven.
