NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Despite weather and travel conditions on Saturday truncating their tenure at the Bulldog Invitational, Fairfield University Men's Tennis left Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center with three wins this past weekend, as the Stags sparred with opponents from Columbia, NJIT, and weekend host Yale on Friday and Sunday.
Matthew Ground had an unbeaten weekend in New Haven. Ground picked up a singles victory over Maxime Hankins of NJIT and teamed with
Alexander Di Staulo for a doubles triumph over the Highlanders' duo or Severin Risan and Arijan Kaliterna.
Calum Jessett also earned a singles win, going 7-6 (1), 7-6 (5) over Yale's Jim Ji – the Ivy League's ITA Masters representative in 2024.
Fairfield Men's Tennis returns to action this weekend for the Metro Conference Masters Tournament on Oct. 2-4. The tournament will be held at Quinnipiac with the winning singles player and doubles team advancing to the ITA Conference Masters Championship beginning Nov. 5 in Rome, Ga.
