HELLERTOWN, PA. - A strong day-two performance by Patrick Ryan saw the Stags' senior improve by seven strokes from his opening score to lead Fairfield University men's golf at the Abarta Coca-Cola Collegiate Invitational Monday.
Ryan carded a 70 in the final round to finish tied for 16th in the 106-player field, pacing the Fairfield five after finishing outside the top-50 on Sunday. A pair of Stags finished tied for 31st in the field as Shane DeVincenzo and Killian McGinley remained steady with each other through both days of the tournament, as the duo both shot two over par in each round. Colin Summers finished tied for 64th in the field, after carding a 76 and 77, and Jason Salameno rounded out the Stags' lineup finishing 99th.
Fairfield men's golf is back in action Saturday, making the short trip to New Haven for the Yale Spring Invitational, a one-day tournament at The Course at Yale in the Stags' final tune-up before the MAAC Championships in Disney next weekend.
