Box Score SPARTANBURG, S.C. – A pair of Stags captured victories in solo play Tuesday, but it wasn't enough as Fairfield University men's tennis fell to Wofford, 5-2.
"Another close loss, losing the doubles point put us behind and we couldn't scrape together enough wins to get the win, said Head Coach Jeff Bricker. "Kaya and Charlie continue to play at a high level, and they picked up two more wins."
The Terriers captured the doubles point on the day, but Kaya Gore was able to put Fairfield on the board in the topflight, splitting the first two sets before winning a third-set tiebreaker to win the match 6-3. 3-6. 1-0. The other win for the Stags came in the No. 2 match where Charlie Morkel rallied back from an opening set defeat to take the duel, 6-7, 6-3, 1-0.
