ELLINGTON, Conn. – Fairfield University Men's Golf steadily improved during each of its three trips through Ellington Ridge Country Club this weekend at the Connecticut Cup.

Killian McGinley each carded a top-20 finish for the Stags.

As a unit, Fairfield rose from 12th to 10th after two rounds and finished in eighth place at the close of the 54-hole event – one shot behind seventh-place Hartford. Among MAAC teams, the Stags' 919 placed them four strokes back of Iona (sixth overall) and ahead of Siena, Rider and Canisius.

Boston College ran away with the tournament title by 21 strokes over second-place UConn. The Eagles were paced by individual medalist Brandon Kewalramani, who shot a 218 (+2) to top the field of 78 golfers.

For the Stags, Salameno shot an even-par 72 in his final round to finish in 15th place. He was second on the leaderboard among MAAC golfers, trailing overall runner-up Justin Burkhamer from Iona.

McGinley also shot par on Saturday to land in the overall top-20.
James Tyer,
Patrick McCarthy and
Shane DeVincenzo were also a part of the scoring quintet for Fairfield this weekend, with
Jacob Zaranek also hitting the course as an individual.
