Ditzinger Finishes Third to Lead Stags to Sixth Place at UConn Invitational

The sophomore carded his third straight Top 3 finish

HAMPDEN, Mass. – Rasmus Ditzinger turned in his third consecutive top three finish to lead Fairfield University Men's Golf at the UConn Invitational at GreatHorse. The Stags placed sixth on a stacked team leaderboard.

Fairfield's sixth-place finish slotted them ahead of MAAC opponents Siena, Merrimack, and Sacred Heart as well as regional foes including Providence, Bryant and Holy Cross. The quintet to best the Stags on the 15-team ledger was headed by host and team champion UConn along with Boston College, Rhode Island, St. John's, and Villanova.

Individually, Ditzinger tied for third place with a 54-hole score of 213 (-3), just one shot off the individual pace. His outing included a second-round 68 – the best individual trip through GreatHorse by a Stag this week.

Tadgh Burke was also among the top 20 on the individual leaderboard in a field of 84 golfers. Anthony Naples rode a final round 71 (-1) into 33rd place for the week, and Peter Crowe cracked the top half of the ledger in 38th place. Tyler Ford rounded out the action in 54th place.

Markus Lam of Boston College and Bradley Sawka of UConn shared the top of the leaderboard at 212 (-4). Lam claimed medalist honors on the second sudden-death playoff hole.

Fairfield Men's Golf gets back to fall action on Oct. 20-21 at the Nassau Intercollegiate hosted by LIU.
