HEBRON, Conn. – Shane DeVincenzo finished one stroke off the pace to lead Fairfield University Men's Golf at the Hartford/Blackledge Invitational on Monday at Blackledge Country Club in Hebron. His 73 (+1) tied for second on the individual leaderboard and guided the Stags to third place on the team ledger.

DeVincenzo was one of three golfers in the 46-man field to finish one shot back of the even-par 72 turned in by individual medalist Matthew Schwab of Hartford. Schwab led the host Hawks to a team win, flanked by a 73 (+1) from Michael Amari and a 74 (+2) by Elias Gross.

For the Stags,
Killian McGinley was one shot behind DeVincenzo with a 74 (+2). Rounding out the scorers for Fairfield were
Patrick McCarthy's 77 (+5) and rounds of 78 (+6) by both
Jason Salameno and
James Tyer.

The Stags posted a 302 (+14) to finish six strokes back on Hartford and three shots behind second-place Sacred Heart. Fairfield bested Franklin Pierce, Trinity and Hofstra on the team leaderboard.

This Friday, the Stags head to Bloomfield for the Hartford/Wintonbury Hills Invitational.
