BOSTON – Just as she did two weeks ago at the MAAC Championship, Danielle Grosso set the pace for Fairfield University Women's Cross Country on Friday at the NCAA Northeast Region Championship in Boston. Grosso completed the 6K course at Franklin Park in 23:23.
 
Grosso was followed by the duo of Anna Weissenberg (24:05) and Catherine Lanahan (24:12). In short order, Jane Frawley (24:33) and Mia Melao (24P47) crossed the finish line to round out the quintet of Stags on the course.
 
Fairfield placed 32nd as a team, defeating in-state foes Hartford and Sacred Heart in addition to Bryant and MAAC rival Niagara.
 
Five runners in the top-20 led Harvard University to the NCAA Northeast Regional Championship. The individual victory went to Amanda Vestri of Syracuse with a winning time of 20:05.
