HOPKINTON, N.H.- Two-time MAAC champion Hannah Snayd led Fairfield University Women's Cross Country on Friday morning at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championship which took place at New Hampshire's Hopkinton State Fairgrounds with a 13th place finish in the 251-runner competition. As a team, the Stags finished 28th out of 37 institutions.
Snayd earned All-Region laurels for her performance, covering the 6K course in a time of 20:19.8 -- less than four seconds outside the individual top-10 finish. Snayd improved her finish from last year's regional championship by a total of 33 spots and her finishing time by 40 seconds over 2024. Snayd is the first Stag in program history to merit NCAA All-Region honors, and her 13th place performance is the best ever by a Stag at the regional meet.
Charlotte Richman of Army West Point won the women's individual title on Friday in a time of 19:52.8.
Catherine Gobo was the next Fairfield finisher in the Granite State in a time of 22:23.2, followed by Clare Lowther at 22:44.6. Carlina Castro (22:59.4) and Sophie Cheesman (23:06.2) rounding out the Stags' five scoring racers at the 2025 NCAA Regional Championship.
Bridget Reidy (23:43.3) and Molly Ryle (24:41.5) also took part in Friday's race for Head Coach Jake Jayworth's squad.
Boston College took the top spot in Friday's NCAA Women's Regional with 60 points followed by Providence with 71 points. With that finish, the Eagles and Friars earned automatic berths to the NCAA Division I Women's Cross Country National Championship Meet that will take place in Columbia, Missouri at the Gans Cross Country Course on November 22.
The Stags finished ahead of MAAC institutions Merrimack, Manhattan, and Niagara as well as regional foes Rhode Island, CCSU, Stonehill, Hofstra, Fordham, and St. Bonaventure.
