RIVERDALE, N.Y.- Junior Hannah Snayd turned in another fine performance on Friday morning taking second place at the 2025 ECAC Women's Cross Country Championship held in New York City's Van Cortlandt Park. Snayd covered the challenging 6K course in a time of 20:22.0 just 1.4 seconds behind Iona's Tayla Gunton, who won the event in a time of 20:20.6.
As a team, the Stags finished in 14th place out of 25 competing institutions, as they outpaced fellow MAAC members Siena, Manhattan and St. Peter's on Friday morning. A total of 233 runners took part in the event.
Catherine Gobo was the next Fairfield finisher on Friday crossing the finish line in a time of 22:50.4.
Sophie Cheesman was close behind Gobo turning in a 22:55.1 finishing time.
Carlina Castro (23:04.0) and Mia Strazzella (23:19.0) rounded out the scoring quintet for head coach Jake Jayworth's team at this year's ECAC Women's Cross Country Championship.
Molly Ryle (23:29.70), Clare Lowther (23:43.3), Bridget Reidy (24:07.6), Callie DeDecko (24:39.6), Taylor Partridge (24:40.8), Michaela Kenny (24:51.6) and Anna Heras (26:16.5) also completed the race for Fairfield on Friday.
Up next for the Stags' cross country teams will have their final competition before this year's MAAC Championship Meet that will take place on November 1, when Fairfield takes part in next Friday's CCSU Mini Meet that will take place in New Britain's Stanley Quarter Park.
