EDISON, N.J. – Following her standout performance at the Paul Short Run for Fairfield University Women's Cross Country,
Hannah Snayd has been named the MAAC Runner of the Week. Snayd's time of 20:03.1 through the 6K course was one of the best in a nationally and regionally competitive field.
Snayd's time of 20:03.1 placed 12th among 338 finishers in the "College Gold" 6K. The reigning MAAC Champion was also the 12th fastest overall across all races – a field that encompassed 1,357 collegiate women to cross the finish line at Lehigh last weekend.
In the Gold race, the stacked field featured 15 teams ranked among the top 10 in their respective regions, including a pair of nationally ranked programs in #15 Penn State and #20 Georgetown. The 40-team field included 14 teams from the NCAA Division I Northeast Region, with Snayd finishing second among that group only behind 2024 All-Ivy harrier Molly Malague from Harvard.
Snayd is now a four-time MAAC Runner of the Week, having earned the distinction on three occasions during her standout rookie season in 2024.
Up next for Fairfield Cross Country is the ECAC Championship on Friday, Oct. 17 at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx. Snayd is the reigning ECAC Champion.
