FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Women's Soccer team earned a pair of weekly conference honors as
Elle Scott was named the MAAC Offensive Player of the Week and
Reagan Klarmann earned MAAC Rookie of the Week honors, the league announced. Both student-athletes helped the Stags to a 1-1 week which included an exciting 3-2 win over Siena.
"Elle has been dangerous all season and I'm glad she's finally her just rewards," Head Coach
David Barrett said. "Reagan, also, has been really coming into her own in the middle for us. She makes a big impact on the game."
Scott scored in both contests for the Stags, tallying three combined goals in the week. Her performance was highlighted by a multi-goal game against Siena as she tallied two goals against the reigning MAAC Champions. Her second goal tied the game in the second half, setting up the heroics of Klarmann.
Klarmann scored the game-winner in Fairfield's exciting win over the Saints, blasting the shot past the goalkeeper with just 90 seconds left in regulation. The score was Klarmann's second of the season, both of those were game-winners.
For the season, Scott is tied for fourth in the MAAC with six goals, while the Stags rank second as a team with 24 scores.
Scott, Klarmann, and the rest of the Stags are back in action on Wednesday night when they welcome Monmouth to Lessing Field at 7pm.
