WEST POINT, N.Y. – All five student-athletes who represented Fairfield University Women's Tennis picked up a victory this weekend, as Fairfield earned three wins in the singles bracket at the ITA Northeast Regional this weekend at West Point.

Aina March and
Amanda Nowak all advanced to the round of 64, while the of
Scarlett Hutchinson and
Francesca Karman earned a win in the doubles draw to move on to the round of 32.

All three of Fairfield's singles triumphs came in straight sets as Plumtree defeated Ryan Peus of Brown, March knocked off Julia Migliorini from Providence and Nowak bested a MAAC rival in Quinnipiac's Dominique Vasile.

Plumtree was the most successful of the three advancing Stags, as she played to a third-set tiebreak with UConn's Julieanne Bou before succumbing in the extra frame, 10-5, in the round of 64.

In addition, Karman and Hutchinson were both on the short side of three-set outings in the singles draw. Karman won a marathon second set to force a tiebreak before falling to Thamonpan Jonglertakul of UMass, and Hutchinson was edged in 10-8 tiebreak by Harvard's Iveta Daujotaite.

On the doubles courts, Hutchinson and Karman bested Stony Brook's duo of Mathilde Sreeves and Loreto Villalba Rubio before falling to Britany Lau and Nora Lee of Brown. The Stags' other tandem in action was Nowak and Plumtree, who were clipped in the opening round by Natasha Irani and Muskan Mahajan of Boston College.

Up next, the Stags are back on campus for the first dual match of the season on Sunday, Oct. 10 against Sacred Heart. The women will challenge the Pioneers on the Walsh Athletic Center outdoor courts at 11 a.m. followed by the men's match at approximately 2 p.m.
