HAMDEN, Conn. — On Wednesday, Fairfield University Women's Tennis (6-12, 4-3 MAAC) fell to first-place Quinnipiac (15-6, 7-0 MAAC) at the QU Tennis Courts in Hamden, 6-1. The Stags secured their lone point with a singles victory at the No. 2 position from
Anna Neyestani.
Quinnipiac claimed the doubles point with victories at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. The match at No. 2 doubles, featuring
Sophia Harris and
Victoria Mandma for the Stags, was left unfinished with the Fairfield duo holding a 5-4 advantage.
In singles play, Neyestani, battled to a 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 triumph over Caitlin Flower at No. 2 singles. However, the Bobcats earned decisions on the remaining courts to seal their 6-1 victory.
Fairfield Women's Tennis concludes the regular season this Sunday with a visit from Niagara. The Stags will enter the final weekend still in contention for a berth in next week's MAAC Championship.
