NEW BRITAIN, Conn. – Fairfield University Women's Cross Country made the short trip up to Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain on Friday for the CCSU Mini-Meet.
Danielle Grosso set the pace for the Stags in the 3K meet, placing 30th in a field of 90 runners, to lead Fairfield to eighth place.

Grosso turned in a time of 10:27.3 to lead the Stags, with
Mia Melao also cracking the top half of the field in 44th place with a mark of 10:38.7.
Catherine Lanahan,
Anna Weissenberg and
Alex Villalba rounded out the quintet of scoring runners for Fairfield.

On the team leaderboard, Fairfield's eighth place finish slotted them ahead of UMass Lowell, Merrimack, Bryant, St. Francis and Fairleigh Dickinson. New Hampshire won the team crown with five runners among the top 14. The individual pace was set by Angelia Rafter of host CCSU with a time of 9:30.8.

Today's meet was the Stags' final tune-up for the 2021 MAAC Championship. The race will be held at Disney's Wide World of Sports in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. next Saturday, Oct. 30.
