MILFORD, Conn. – Fairfield University Men's Golf won the 2021 Sacred Heart Fall Invitational, besting host Sacred Heart by six strokes. The Stags were led by
Killian McGinley and
Jason Salameno, who finished second and third, respectively.

The Stags shot a 308 (+20) on Sunday, finishing the opening round tied for first place with Bryant. In Monday's final round, Fairfield turned in the best round of the tournament with a 297 (+9) to pull away from the field.

Sacred Heart placed second and Bryant placed third, following by two additional teams of Stags and pioneers to round out the five-team field.

Individually, McGinley carded a 145 (+1) through 36 holes at Great River Golf Club in Milford. Salameno added a 149 (+5) to take third place honors. Sacred Heart's Marcus Lim topped the leaderboard with a 142 (-2) fueled by the low round of the event with a 69 (-3) in the final round.

For the Stags,
Patrick Ryan also cracked the individual top-10 with a 154 (+10) to share eighth place on the ledger.

The two-day tournament in Milford was the first of two events for the Stags this week. Up next, Fairfield travels to the Hellertown section of Bethlehem, Pa. for two days at Saucon Valley Country Club for the Lehigh Invitational on Oct. 22-23.
