SOUTH KENT, Conn. – The top three finishers for Fairfield University Men's Golf were in the top half of the field at the Hartford Hawks Invitational as the Stags placed 10th at Bull's Bridge Golf Club.
Shane DeVincenzo led the effort with a 218 (+2) after 54 holes of action.

DeVincenzo's outing included an even-par 72 in round two as he placed 22nd in a field of 106 golfers.
James Tyer added a 221 (+5) to share 35th place and
Killian McGinley, who began his tournament with an even-par 72, finished at +8 (224) in 42nd place.

Rounding out the Stags' competitors at the tournament were
Finn McGinnis,
Patrick McCarthy and
Jacob Zaranek.

Fairfield's 10th-place team finish put them ahead of six squads: Bryant, Hofstra, Wagner, Fordham, Mount St. Mary's and St. Francis Brooklyn. UCF won the team title by 16 strokes led by four of the top 10 finishers. Medalist honors went to Wenliang Xie of Seton Hall, who carded a 206 (-10) to edge Melan Dhaubhadel of Fairleigh Dickinson by one shot.

The Stags will be back on the links on Sept. 28-29 for the Macdonald Cup held at the Course at Yale in New Haven.
