NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Kevin Duncan shot a 143 (+3) to set the pace for Fairfield University Men's Golf in 36 holes of action on Saturday at The Course at Yale in New Haven. As a team, Fairfield placed 10th in its final competition prior to next weekend's Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship.
 
Duncan carded a 71 – the best round by a Stag on Saturday – and was consistent on his second trip through The Course at Yale with an afternoon 72. Kellen Jordan also shot a 72 in his second round, as Jordan, Finn McGinnis and Thomas Urciuoli all finished tied on the leaderboard at 150 (+10). Jacob Zaranek added a 153 and James Tyer was right behind him with a 154.
 
Five of the six Stags to take the course either matched or improved their score in the second round. As a team, Fairfield went from a 378 to a 367 – the tournament's third best improvement from Round 1 to Round 2.
 
Fairfield's 10th place finish slotted them ahead of Brown and Fordham on the team leaderboard. Host Yale won the tournament by five strokes over second-place Bucknell with a 711 (+11). Siena's Jack Brown earned individual medalist honors with a two-round score of 134 (-67) after firing a 67 (-3) in both of his rounds on Saturday.
 
The 2019 MAAC Championship tees off from Disney's Magnolia Golf Course in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. With 54 holes of action beginning on Thursday, April 18.
