BUFFALO, N.Y. – Fairfield University Women's Cross Country completed the 2019 campaign on Friday morning at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championship in Buffalo, N.Y. Courtney Kitchen set the pace for the Stags in her first NCAA regional event.
 
Kitchen completed the 6K course in 22:13.6, finishing in 160th place to best more than 100 fellow harriers in the 268-runner field. She was followed less than four seconds later by Genevieve Connelly as the second Stag to cross the finish line.
 
Jane Frawley, Casey Ems, Molly Silvestri, Mia Melao and Anna Weissenberg also hit the course today on the University at Buffalo campus as the Stags fielded a team comprised of three freshmen and four sophomores for today's NCAA race.
 
Fairfield's 33rd place team finish slotted them ahead of a pair of MAAC foes in Niagara and Canisius as well as Hofstra from the CAA and Bryant from the Northeast Conference.
 
The NCAA Northeast Regional Championship was taken home by Harvard, sparked by second-overall finisher Anna Juul's time of 19:31.3. Juul was edged by individual pacesetter Hannah Reinhardt of Albany, who broke the tape with a winning mark of 19:28.4.
