NEW BRITAIN, Conn. – Fairfield University Women's Cross Country ran its final tune-up for the 2019 MAAC Championship on Friday at the CCSU Mini-Meet in New Britain.
Genevieve Connelly paced the Stags at Stanley Quarter Park, completing the 3K course in 10:52.4.

Finishing just behind Connelly on the course – all within a half-second of each other – was the trio of
Casey Ems,
Jane Frawley and
Mia Melao.
Molly Silvestri rounded out the quintet of scorers for Fairfield. Angelia Rafter of host CCSU set the individual pace with a winning team of 9:51.5.

As a team, the Stags posted an 11th place finish to top Stony Brook, Bryant, Hartford, Fairleigh Dickinson and St. Francis Brooklyn on the leaderboard. New Hampshire won the team crown with all five of its scoring runners among the top nine individual finishers.

The 2019 MAAC Championship is set for next Saturday, Nov. 2 at Holmdel Park in Holmdel, N.J.
