GRASONVILLE, Md. – After rain washed out Sunday's final round, Fairfield University Men's Golf finished the Towson Fall Invitational in sixth place this weekend at Prospect Bay Country Club in Grasonville, Md.
James Tyer shared 11th place to lead the Stags.

With their sixth-place finish after 18 holes, the Stags (298, +10) topped MAAC foe Manhattan as well as Long Island and Hampton. Fairfield was just one stroke behind fifth-place North Carolina A&T and two shots back of host Towson.

In addition, only nine strokes separated the Stags from tournament winner Robert Morris on the jam-packed leaderboard. The Colonials posted a 289 (+1) to edge second-place Youngstown State by two strokes.

Tyer shared 11th place in a field of 50 golfers with a 73 (+1) on the day. Four other Stags were also in the top half of the field with
Jacob Zaranek tying for 16th place with a 74 (+2) and the trio of
Shane DeVincenzo,
Patrick McCarthy and
Killian McGinley all carding a 75 (+3) to land in 20th place.

Individual medalist honors went to Max Palmer from Robert Morris with a 68 (-4), clipping his teammate Kyle Grube and Youngstown State's Kevin Scherr, who each turned in a 69 (-3).

Fairfield will wrap up the fall on Oct. 27-28 at the Metropolitan Intercollegiate Championship at Montclair Golf Club in West Orange, N.J.
