SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – Kellen Jordan set the pace on Monday's final round and
James Tyer finished in the top five for the tournament as Fairfield University Men's Golf wrapped up its fall slate at the Metropolitan Intercollegiate Championship. The Stags finished sixth in the 15-team tournament – third out of six MAAC teams at the event.
Jordan's 76 (+6) was Fairfield best round on Monday as he bettered his score by four strokes from Sunday's opening round 80.
James Tyer, who shot a 69 (-1) on Sunday, finished tied for fifth place with a 36-hole score of 147 (+7).
Finn McGinnis,
Thomas Urciuoli and Jordan also all finished in the top half of the 90-man field.
Jacob Zaranek shot a 79 today to factor into the Stags' second-round scoring.
With their sixth place finish, the Stags topped opposition including MAAC teams Monmouth, Manhattan and Niagara as well as Sacred Heart, Fordham and others. Saint Peter's on the tournament by 14 strokes. Villanova's Connor Daly shot a pair of 71s to earn individual medalist honors by one shot with a 142 (+2).
