POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Benjamin Breton set the pace for Fairfield University Men's Cross Country in his collegiate debut, crossing the line in 20:21.6 at the Marist Invitational on Saturday morning. The Stags placed third against a pair of Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) foes.

Breton completed the 6K course in 24th place in a field of 56 harriers.
Scott Daly was the next Stag to finish, placing 26th with a mark of 20:36.2.
Connor Secora posted a time of 20:50.3 in his first collegiate race, with fellow newcomers
Nick Rispoli (21:17.3) and
Mike Dziuba (21:42.1) also scoring for the Stags.

Timothy Salit (21:55.8),
Stephen Jastrzembski (22:44.8) and
Dan Lehman (24:27.2) rounded out the octet of Fairfield runners to hit the course on Vassar Farm this morning.

Host Marist won the meet, placing six of the first seven finishers, including individual winner Dietrich Mosel (18:51.5). MAAC and national powerhouse Iona placed second, led by second-place individual finisher Ehab Sandali (18:52.7).

This morning's meet was the Fairfield debut for Head Coach
David Scrivines.

Next weekend, Fairfield is back in New York for the Wolfie Invitational hosted by Stony Brook University on Saturday, Sept. 9 at 10:30 a.m.
